00:30:00 Anna Wright: Hello! Anna Wright, Talent Acquisition/HR Coordinator at Associated Grocers of New England. Staying on top of new DEI strategies are important to me so I can implement them in my recruiting process. I am new to the HR world and am excited to learn more!
00:30:11 Ben Jr: Hello everyone! Ben Cardenas here from Joliet, IL. I want to help start the D&I strategy for my company. It is not a focus and we are slowly beginning to move into that direction. As a company we have a big opportunity to make a difference and diversify our culture.

00:35:14 Shannon McCarthy: I’ve noticed this for awhile at past two companies – comments on “why is your board all white men?”
00:35:14 Yvette Mack-Tate: Hello Everyone Yvette Mack-Tate joining from Chicagoland These conversations are critical because we are dealing with so many issues while we all navigate through these unchartered waters. Would love to connect to continue the conversation. linkedin.com/in/yvette-mack-tate-shrm-scp-she-her-hers-221594b7
00:35:40 Lotus Buckner: Shannon, I love that you had people come right out and ask that!
00:39:28 Ben Jr: Yes! Authenticity is key! You cannot fake it until you make it. As its been shared, candidates are digging deeper to understand the D&I philosophy of companies. If your D&I is posted on your company websites but you cannot model the behaviors or actions people will pick up on that and walk away.
00:40:10 Shannon McCarthy: Yes! from all walks of life, Lotus.
00:40:23 Laura Ladd: Hello Everyone, my name is Laura Ladd and I am the HR Business Partner at Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights, IL. I want to be part of these important conversations to learn and best support my organization in moving towards a more diverse workforce.
00:40:42 Shannon McCarthy: Love the golf course/bar stories – this extends really into onboarding…needs to be more than just hiring, but the onboarding experience too
00:44:39 Judy Safian: Any advice for how to handle (as leader, peer, employee) when exec leadership just paying lip service to D, E & I change?
00:45:55 Hope Sims: Because they are not the problem!!!
00:49:07 Hope Sims: Leadership has to stand up and make that change. It would be more Genuinely accepted. Stop deflecting on to employees; who may not have the power to make change within the organization
00:49:07 Yvette Mack-Tate: The survey should have been anonymous. You would have gotten more participation or if you had the survey sent out by a third party you may have had more participation.
